Comparison of Crawl Space Vent Performance
Comparison of Crawl Space Vent Performance
Field-Tested in Washington State
This is based on on-site measurements conducted in an actual residential building in Washington State. The study compares the Joto-Vent System® continuous perimeter vent system with Conventional Crawl Space Vents under real-world conditions, focusing on crawl space temperature and moisture behavior at the perimeter, center, and corner areas.

Measured Results Summary
Based on field measurements from an actual residential project in Washington State, the Joto-Vent System® demonstrated uniform ventilation performance across the entire crawl space, including perimeter, center, and corner areas. Temperature and moisture conditions closely followed outdoor air at all locations, indicating balanced airflow without stagnant zones. In contrast, Conventional Crawl Space Vents showed strong outdoor influence only near vent openings, while corner areas remained poorly ventilated and tended to retain higher moisture levels. As a result, the Joto-Vent System® significantly reduced the risk of high humidity in crawl space corners, where moisture-related problems such as mold and decay typically begin.
